First Visit - What to Expect

Interview

Your one hour appointment with Dr. Lasich will entail a detailed interview and exam. Dr. Lasich believes in listening to you and talking with you; as opposed to you completing a multi-page generic medical information form.

Physical Exam

The physical exam will be focused on your particular needs and based in exam principles found with neurologists and orthopedic surgeons.

Diagnostic Testing

Any diagnostic testing already done will be reviewed. X-ray or MRI films brought in will be explained. Any additional necessary testing will be ordered by Dr. Lasich to insure accurate diagnosis.

Education

Based on your diagnosis Dr. Lasich will educate you on strategies to live with and potentially overcome the problem.

Treatment

Non-invasive, Non-operative, conservative treatment is the core of Dr. Lasich's expertise. With prescriptions for physical therapy, orthoses, ergonomic equipment, and medications, Dr. Lasich hopes to help you avoid a trip to the surgeon.

Follow-up Care - What to Expect

Dr. Lasich will work very closely with the physical therapist to ensure appropriate care. She also enjoys personally showing patients exercises to provide the necessary teamwork needed to overcome disability and pain. Medications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with adjustments made based on your individual needs and circumstances. Referrals for invasive procedures, second opinions and surgical consultation will be made as needed. New problems will be thoroughly evaluated. You will be treated in a fair, professional manner with a goal of improving your quality of LIFE.

A Note About Physical Therapy

Not all Physical Therapist are created equal. Skill levels vary according to the level of education and training of a practitioner. Europe and Australian offer the best educational opportunities in the field of physical therapy. Some American therapist have enhanced their skills by going overseas; some have sought training from those who have. You should choose physical therapy programs wisely or risk further injury and wasted time. Dr. Lasich has carefully evaluated various programs in the area. She will be able to match your needs to a physical therapy program that can meet those needs.
